Our Story
Cash’s Second Chance exists to give misunderstood dogs- with behavioral challenges- the opportunity to receive the time, training, and support they deserve. I believe that behavior alone should not define a dog’s future. My goal is to partner with rescues, shelters, trainers, veterinarians, and foster families to help a dog receive a true second chance.
For as long as I can remember, dogs have been one of the greatest loves of my life. They’ve been there for some of my happiest memories, but they’ve also been the source of some of my deepest heartbreak. Over the years, I have spent countless nights crying over dogs I had never even met—dogs abandoned, overlooked, forgotten in shelters, or euthanized before they ever had the chance to experience the love they deserved. Only a small portion of those tears were for dogs that belonged to me. Most were for strangers. I have prayed for them, donated when I could, shared their stories, and hoped that somehow, someone would step in before it was too late. Then I met Cash.
Cash was a French Bulldog in California who entered a shelter after struggling with behavioral challenges. I never had the opportunity to meet him, but the moment I saw his photo, I couldn’t stop thinking about him. Because Cash looked exactly like my dog. My French Bulldog, Theo, has behavioral challenges, too.. We’ve spent countless hours training him, learning him, and adapting to his needs. But through every challenge, one thing has never changed: He has always been loved. He has always had a family that refused to give up on him. When I looked at Cash, I couldn’t help but wonder what his life might have looked like if he had been given the same opportunity. I reached out, hoping there was still time to help. Unfortunately, before anything could happen, Cash was gone.
That night, I couldn’t sleep. I realized that I didn’t just want to mourn another dog I have never met. I wanted to make sure that fewer dogs found themselves in the same position. That’s why I created Cash’s Second Chance.
Our mission is to advocate for dogs who are overlooked, misunderstood, or facing uncertain futures—especially those with behavioral challenges. We believe that every dog deserves to be seen as more than their hardest day, and that with the right support, patience, and resources, many can go on to live safe, happy lives. Cash’s story ended before I had the chance to help him. My hope is that his legacy becomes the reason countless other dogs get theirs.
